About Valerie b.
Valerie b. was born in France and raised in a family of French fashion designers and artists. She studied art at the Royal College of Art and Central St Martin College of Art & Design in London. Directly from college she accepted an apprenticeship at the lauded John Frieda Salon, training with their top stylists and working on many high profile events including shows for London Fashion Week. Expanding on her hair experience, she returned to school, studying makeup at the London Film Academy and at the Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles.
Her work experience has seen her crossing the globe, working for Discovery Channels, MTV Networks and DreamWorks in London; for Serge Normant at John Frieda in Los Angeles and New York; for the SBM Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo in Monaco, and for France Televisions in Paris. More recently and for two years she designed the image for HSH Princess Charlene in Monaco by attending to her hair makeup and wardrobe.
Now based in New York Valerie works as a freelance hair & makeup artist for fashion, advertising, editorials and television. Her talent has been shown in such publications as Vogue Japan and Elle France, and her clients are seen on the red carpet of high profile events such as the Academy Awards and the Grammys. She has been featured on NBC’s EXTRA and her celebrity clientele trusts her to deliver a unique look that’s picture ready and appropriate for each occasion.
